The Stoughton Area Resource Team, Inc.
(START) provides a safety net for those in crisis. Recently, a 30-year old single father of two struggled to find work, to pay for daycare for his children and to secure a home; so much time was spent homeless and hopeless.

| Stoughton Area Girl Scouts Storage Shed - 2026 |
Amount Funded: $2,000.00 |
| To avoid additional storage fees, the goal is to have the concrete poured before the ground freezes, and if time allows, possibly even get the shed completed before winter. If the scheduling for any contractor pushes it back, the goal is by early April.
The overall Stoughton scout community will benefit from this shed being completed. Troop Leaders, who will have reliable access to shared supplies without needing to purchase duplicate materials
Girl Scouts across Stoughton, who will benefit from well-organized, well-supplied troop activities and events
Our scholarship fund, since eliminating monthly storage rental costs will free up funds currently spent on rental fees to instead go toward camp scholarships, graduation scholarships, and lifetime memberships
Sustainability
By eliminating the recurring cost of a rented storage unit, this project creates long-term savings that will be redirected to our core mission: ensuring girls in our community have full access to the Girl Scout experience, regardless of financial circumstance. |
| Friends of Great Scouts Stoughton is building a storage shed to consolidate and preserve joint-use equipment shared across all Stoughton-area troops (currently 11 troops and 88 scouts). This includes large items such as a pop-up camper used for the annual camporee, the bridge used in bridging ceremonies, the derby track, and numerous bins of activity supplies.
Currently, these items are either rented offsite at a monthly cost or purchased repeatedly by individual troop leaders, since there is no shared space to store and access them. This is neither economical nor efficient, and it creates unnecessary financial strain on troop leaders and limits equitable access to equipment across troops. |
