The Stoughton Area Resource Team, Inc.
(START) provides a safety net for those in crisis. Recently, a 30-year old single father of two struggled to find work, to pay for daycare for his children and to secure a home; so much time was spent homeless and hopeless.

Learning Academy-Achievement Support - 2016 |
Amount Funded: $5,000.00 |
The purpose of this project is to provide for the sensory needs of the students scheduled into the Learning Academy. These needs include a literacy improvement commitment(library), arts and sensory stimulation manipulatives, and some physical furniture that will enhance and promote academic success. Specific examples would include books for the classroom library, stand up or sensory based chairs and furniture, stress reducing manipulatives, and visual artwork and art supplies. In general, this project will lead to academic and real world success for the students enrolled in this facility. |
The Learning Academy is an individualized learning facility open to all students at Stoughton High School. This is the first year of this program, and will serve approximately 100 students who are exploring a different way to learn in a different environment. Some of the students enrolled in the Academy have social, mental health, or credit deficiency issues at the high school. |
