The Stoughton Area Resource Team, Inc.
(START) provides a safety net for those in crisis. Recently, a 30-year old single father of two struggled to find work, to pay for daycare for his children and to secure a home; so much time was spent homeless and hopeless.

| Educational Forest Food Garden - 2025 |
Amount Funded: $1,500.00 |
| With this additional funding we will be able to buy the supplies needed in Spring of 2026 to officially establish the growth phase of our garden. We can begin planting the raised-beds with the help of the community in late spring 2026. |
| In 2024 we were the recipients of a grant from the Bradley Memorial Fund to design and layout a fully accesible Forest Food Garden. Modeled after a Vegvisir (Nordic Compass Rose), we were able to lay the foundation for this garden. We have wheelchair accessible pathways, 6 accessible high raised-bed garden boxes, and established ground planting beds. The goal of this garden is to provide education of forest growth, mimicking the 7 layers of a natural forest, but everything is edible. We hope this example of harmony in nature will allow us to connect with various community organizations like the MARC Center and the Senior Center for visiting and planting projects. This beautiful place will be enjoyed by visitors from our community along with the 150 campers we serve each year. This garden will be maintained by the staff of Fort littlegreen and approximately 100 hours of volunteer time each season. The additional funds we are seeking are to bring in more garden soil, define pathways with edging, and to buy plants and trees to add to the garden in the spring of 2026. |
